As a 30 year Army wife, can tell that you'll do well. You've already grasped the first lesson, to get into, learn about, and enjoy every place you're posted. The Japanese chest will travel with you for years and serve as a reminder of the good tour you've had, it will mingle with the other pieces you pick up along the way and in the end you'll have a home full of your history and your memories. Each piece with its own story. It is hard to be a military wife, but there are also many wonders and joys to balance things out.
